Abstract

Muitas teorias do Estado ocupam-se dos fundamentos ou causas hipotéticas que orientam as ações políticas. John Dewey, porém, toma como ponto de partida as conseqüências das ações, buscando, a partir da investigação de seu efeitos diretos e indiretos, redefinir o papel do público, do privado, do Estado, do governo e da democracia.
